      On January 25 1916 the undersigned observed

      Gellean Buschlen

      born on Nov. 12. 1879 in Frutigen, Switzerland. Son of Peter Buschlen and his wife Susanna (born Schranz). On Nov. 24. 1879 he was baptized in his local church and at the age of 12 years along with his parents and siblings emigrated from Switzerland to this country in early 1894 to settle on a farm belonging to his father.

      In the winter of 1896-97 after successfully completing his studies as candidate for confirmation he allowed to receive the holy communion in 1897. Although he worked outside of the town on a regular basis he nonetheless attended church service regularily. On January 1 1906 he became a member of the community and maintained a close relationship.

      On Feb 5 1907 he married Lilly Decher who became a true and lifelong partner. The couple had six children in nine years. The first born child died at four months of age.

      Gellean Buschlen died January 21 around 6 o’clock p.m.

      His age was 36 years, 2 months, 9 days
