  • Photos Anthony Buschlen (1828-1913). Second son of Christian Buschlen. He was born in Switzerland, came to Canada with his family in 1842 and married Mary Farmer. They had 5 children. Anthony became involved in politics in the town of Arthur, Ontario. He was the first reeve there, and became known as the 'Father of Arthur' (the town).Photo of Anthony Buschlen

      Passed away at his home on Smith St. after weeks of much intense suffering. (Arther Enterprise News Oct 16, 1913)
      1881 Census list him as a saw miller and a Presbyterian and a blacksmith
