Immigration DetailsEvery Buschlen, Bueschlen, Bushlen that I have found in Canada and United States descend from several Buschlens who immigrated from Frutigen, Switzerland. And these Buschlens were all descendants of Anna (Zumkehr) and Melcher Buschlen. Immigration 1Christian Buschlen was the first, he and family left Frutigen for Canada about 1844. While enroute from Frutigen to the point of embarkation in France, the wife of Christian Buschlen, Maria Zurbrugg died. After burial in France, the husband rejoined his five sons and one daughter and proceeded to their new home on the North American continent. The widowed husband and his family established their new home on a farm located near New Hamburg, Ontario, Canada.
Immigration 2On the 16th of June 1884, Gilgian Buschlen, his second wife Maria or "Mary" and six children arrived at Ellis Island from Havre, France onboard the Normandie. They settled in the Huron area of Michigan.
Immigration 3On April 2nd 1888 Christian Buschlen, his wife Margreth OGI with their children came to the US to settle in Wisconsin. I am just staring to fill in this line.
Immigration 4In approximately May or June of 1891, Peter Buschlen, his wife Sussana Schranz and their young family of 7 children, left Adelboden Switzerland. They sailed from Boulogne-Sur-Mer, France, landed in USA, and settled in Linkville, Huron County, Michigan.
Immigration 5In 1955 Sonja Buschlen immigrated to Michigan by herself.
Although these are separate immigrations, all of these families that have come to Canada or the US all relate back to Melcher Buschlen (born 1730) and Anna Zumkehr.
