Do you know your family beyond your grand parents?

Introduction to this site

For me, I didn't even know my grand parents. My grand father died before I was born, and my grand mother died 2 weeks after my birth. I grew up not knowing them, or anything about them. My father passed away when I was only 17, and this was long before I had a desire to know about my family history. When I wanted to know, I had no one to ask about cousins, and who was connected to who. Without this information being readily available to most people, it became a struggle and a venture to find the answers. Who were my grand parents? Who were their parents? Where did this uncommon name come from? If I see another person in the phone book with the same name, are they related? Were we German as the name would imply?

This venture started out over 20 years ago. Over the years I have searched and looked in every corner I could to find anything and everything related to the Buschlen name. I have visited many Buschlens throughout Canada and United States, I have regular email contact with many, and I have made many long distance phone calls to others. In pursuit of obtaining every detail about our cousins, I have personally visited almost every Buschlen internment location, and photographed their stone.

The ongoing research is dedicated in the memory of our Buschlen ancestors so that they will be remembered. The results of my efforts are also here so that others that follow will not have to work as hard as I have just to find out more about their family. The answers to their questions are right here in these pages.
