Grace R. Carpenter, 77, died Sunday morning, Oct. 10, 1999, at her home following a lengthy illness. She was born June 13, 1922 near Bay Port, the daughter of the late Levi and Adina (Bueschlen) Beck. She was united in marriage to Milford Carpenter on Feb. 28, 1942 in Kilmanagh. Grace was a member of the Kilmanagh United Methodist Church and served as a secretary. She was an avid bowler and loved gospel and bluegrass music. Surviving besides her husband, Milford, are one daughter, Joan Tyree, and her husband, Vernon, of Fenton; one son, Donald Carpenter, and his wife, Jean, of Unionville; five grandchildren, Clark and Jeffrey Harner, and Joshua, Jessica and Jacob Carpenter; and two great-grandchildren, Adina and Adam. She was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Peggy Jo Carpenter. The funeral service took place at 11 a.m. today, Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999, at Dinkel-Juengel Funeral Home in Sebewaing. The Rev. Clarence W. VanConant officiated with burial in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
