Earl A. Buschlen, 84, of Elkton died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon. He was born Oct. 14, 1915, at the home of his parents, the late Samuel and Ida (Ramseyer) Buschlen in Kilmanagh. Earl moved to his Oliver Township home with his parents in 1919, where he farmed all his life, retiring in 1998. On April 27, 1963, he was united in marriage to Doris Miller in Romeo. She preceded him in death on Feb. 7, 1997. He was a member of the Elkton United Methodist Church and a life member of the Hubbard-Winsor Lodge F. & A.M. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2000, at the Elkton United Methodist Church. The Rev. Pete Crawford, pastor, will officiate with burial in Grand Lawn Cemetery, Pigeon. Visitation is 3 to 9 p.m. today at Champagne Funeral Chapel in Elkton, and after 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Elkton United Methodist Kitchen Fund.
Carol M. Waldrip, 61, of Odessa, Texas, formerly known as Carol Border of Clare, died suddenly, Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000 in Odessa, Texas.
Born Aug. 1, 1938 in Gladwin, she was the daughter of William and Eileen Buschlen.
Carol married Elwyn Guy Waldrip, Dec. 14, 1987 and has resided in Odessa, Texas since then.
Carol lived in the central Michigan area most of her life. She was a devoted homemaker and mother to her six children. She enjoyed baking, crafts, animals, and had a passion for gardening, children and nature and all its beauty.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Stanton and wife Debbie Roberson of Harrison, Terry and wife Debbie Border of Midland, and Gary and wife Marcie Border of Odessa, Texas; three daughters, Cindy Wilber and Kathy Tice, both of Clare and Penny and husband Dan Zeneberg of Mt. Pleasant; two brothers, Paul Buschlen of Allegan, and Donald and wife Chris Buschlen of Essexville; two sisters, Esther and husband James Crawford of Long Beach, Calif., and Ruth Ann and husband Bruce Carns of Allegan; and 18 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Eileen Buschlen.
Services will be held Friday at Stephenson-Wyman Funeral home in Clare. Visitation will be held tomorrow (Thursday).

A Service of Rememberance will take place at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel, 81 James Street, Parry Sound on Tuesday, November 28th at 3:00 p.m.
